Weddings
Green is the new white for today’s bride … metaphorically speaking that is!
Climate change has impacted the wedding industry. In Europe and the USA today’s Bride and Groom are planning weddings which are “Green”. Whether it is sourcing local products and services or using vintage or recycled items, today’s bridal couple is eco-conscious. The desires for “The Big Day” are still to celebrate a union with a joyous, memorable and stylish celebration but now couples are looking to reduce environmental impact and openly display their “Green” philosophies. Green doesn’t mean that the event is anything less gorgeous, rather it truly symbolises the thoughts and wishes of the bridal couple whilst positively contributing to the health of the planet.
The Blumin Team is seeing the same patterns in the local market. Our Brides have a green conscience as well.
We have many photos and stories from weddings that Blumin has been involved in. Watch this space!
Autumn in Trentham – Meaghan & Tim March 2010
Congratulations to Meaghan & Tim who, this week, celebrate their first wedding anniversary. Their wedding was the inspiration behind Destination Weddings Trentham – they are a fabulous couple, it was a gorgeous day, and all in Trentham!
The couple had originally looked to hold the wedding in Melbourne, however one Saturday in Spring, after wandering through Trentham’s farmers market , they discovered Blumin , then they sat and enjoyed a coffee at the newly opened Cosmopolitan Hotel Beer Garden, it was then they decided on a Destination Wedding. The Cosmopolitan Hotel became the venue, Trentham the location – Blumin the flowers – the scene was set and now the rest is history!
The flowers, all locally sourced, included English Garden Roses, Tulips, Agapanthus and furry green Chestnuts!! The couple wanted a relaxed but splendid country theme, with a touch of “a man from snowy river”. China milk jugs and Golf ensured the couple had a truly nostaglic and memorable day.
